Going a little yellow

Ok, so it seems I’m still unable to find the time to write down some words here. And once again, it seems I shall apologise and promise to do it more. Yet with, say, 3 readers here I’m not sure it’s too much of a pain for you
Well, I went to my first TKD grading of the cumulative 3.5 years I have been doing TKD. Surprisingly, though being sick as a dog, I managed to get promoted to Yellow Tag. Though I feel any basic grasp of the syllabus would have got people through. But I see it as a first step on the road to not having to have a coloured belt any more.
I also had a day (9am to 8pm) at a TKD competition. Watched some patterns and sparring. As a group the school came back with two Bronze and two Gold medals, and a Best Overall 18+ trophy (and thats from the UK open!) Go Lindsey! I still think that WTF sparring is more obvious and intuitive. I still can’t get my head around ‘not using excessive force’ in a fighting sport, though the inclusion of hand techniques is something that, I feel, makes it more rounded.
After the competition we went to a Cantonese restaurant I never knew existed in Derby, and I was highly impressed. So shall have to organise a night there to surprise my someone special. Should be back there for the TKD Xmas Meal next Tuesday too!

Many a year ago I was a yellow belt in karate, don’t know how that compares to TKD tho.
